shooting my fourth london wedding this season at Chiddingston Castle, in kent, just outside of london, made me feel like i had lost myself in a jane austen novel, curled up on the couch, on a rainy saturday afternoon. the last owner of this castle lived here in the sixties, until his girlfriend shot him for being a notorious ( & obviously wealthy ) philanderer ! well, i guess that’s one way to make your cheating boyfriend stop cheating. from the antique floral wallpaper to the festoon curtaining four-poster bed, to jo’s incredibly stylish 1920′s art deco dress from The Vintage Wedding Dress Company, to libraries { and high tea & scones in the billiard room at 3 }, this incredible castle made for fabulous photos. enjoy >

to be truly honest, the last thing i felt like doing was spending time with a couple of bridesmaids ( albeit it two dimensional ) or any thing to do with weddings on my day off. but when a photographer friend of mine { who is usually very underwhelmed and cynical / he has high expectations ! } said i should see this film, because he thought it was better than “get him to the greek”, i had to go. he was right – it is hilarious. director, paul feig, together with the improv talents of five sensational comediennes, manage to take a story that could easily be a tad too “hollywood”, to produce a very fresh and real comedy. kristen wiig, who cowrote the screenplay, plays annie, who is asked by her best friend, lillian ( maya rudolph ) to be her maid of honor. and so the story, and wiig’s character, annie ( literally ) unravels. the movie made my heart sing . . . but not as much as the policeman “mr nice”, with whom i fell madly in love *
